DA-029 - “The Eternal Credit Card”

Object Class: Safe

Secure Containment Guidelines:
DA-029 is to be stored in a secure containment locker in Site-19. Access to DA-029 is restricted to Level 3 personnel or higher. Any experiment involving DA-029 must receive prior approval from at least two Level 4 personnel. All transactions made using DA-029 must be thoroughly documented and reported to the Ethics Committee.

Description:

DA-029 is a standard credit card made of plastic and metal. The card is of the Visa brand and bears the name "Jane Doe" on the front, with an expiration date of 05/25 and a card number beginning with "4". DA-029 functions like a standard credit card, with a magnetic stripe and a chip that allows it to be used for transactions at various establishments.

However, unlike a standard credit card, DA-029 does not lose its monetary value after a transaction has been made. For example, if DA-029 is used to purchase an item for $10, the card will still retain its original balance. This phenomenon has been confirmed by numerous experiments, and the card's value remains constant even after being used for hundreds of transactions.

Further tests have revealed that the card's balance does not increase or decrease due to any known method of tracking or manipulation. The source of the card's seemingly infinite balance is unknown, and all attempts to replicate this phenomenon have been unsuccessful.

Addendum:

DA-029 was recovered from a local convenience store in ████████, where it was reportedly used to purchase several items without the card's balance decreasing. After the cashier contacted the authorities, the Foundation was notified and DA-029 was seized for containment. All witnesses to the event were administered Class-C amnestics.

DA-029's anomalous properties have potential applications for financial gain or manipulation, and as such, the Ethics Committee has placed a ban on any unauthorized use or experimentation with DA-029. Any personnel found to be in violation of this ban will be subject to disciplinary action.
