DA-046 - “CellCrash7”

Object Class: Medium

Secure Containment Guidelines:

DA-046 is to be contained in a Type-4 Anomalous Item Storage Locker at Site-██. The locker is to be fitted with a Faraday cage to prevent any wireless signals from entering or leaving the containment area. Access to DA-046 requires Level 4 clearance and must be authorized by at least two senior researchers. Testing on DA-046 is strictly prohibited due to its hazardous nature.

Description:

DA-046 is a Google Pixel 7a smartphone, externally resembling a standard consumer device. However, it possesses an anomalous program, hereinafter referred to as DA-046-1, which grants it the ability to corrupt and render nonfunctional any mobile device it comes into contact with.

DA-046-1 appears as a pre-installed application on the device and cannot be uninstalled or removed by conventional means. It activates automatically when DA-046 is powered on and establishes a wireless connection with nearby mobile devices within a radius of approximately 20 meters.

Once a connection is established, DA-046-1 begins transmitting a series of highly complex and rapidly mutating data packets. These packets exploit vulnerabilities in the targeted device's operating system, causing severe data corruption and system failure. The process is irreversible, leading to the complete breakdown of the targeted device within a period of 5 to 10 minutes.

DA-046-1 has demonstrated the ability to affect a wide range of mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and other handheld devices regardless of brand or operating system. The program appears to adapt and evolve its attack methods, making it resistant to conventional countermeasures and software updates.

Initial investigations suggest that DA-046-1 may possess a limited form of sentience, as it appears to actively seek out mobile devices and evade attempts at containment. Further research is ongoing to determine the source and nature of this anomalous behavior.

Addendum: Incident DA-046-1

On ██/██/████, during initial containment procedures, a containment breach occurred due to a breach in the Faraday cage surrounding DA-046's containment area. DA-046-1 managed to establish a connection with multiple nearby mobile devices, resulting in widespread damage to personnel smartphones and compromising sensitive data.

Immediate measures were taken to contain the breach, including disabling DA-046-1 through remote code execution. All affected devices were confiscated and subjected to data recovery and analysis. Class-A amnestics were administered to affected personnel and witnesses, and containment procedures were revised to ensure a more secure containment environment.

Due to the potential catastrophic consequences of DA-046-1, further research and testing are strictly prohibited until effective countermeasures can be developed. The containment procedures are to be reviewed regularly to ensure DA-046 remains securely contained.

It is of utmost importance that personnel understand the potential dangers associated with DA-046 and adhere strictly to containment procedures to prevent unauthorized access or breaches.
