DA-083 is to be contained within a reinforced steel chamber at Site-██. The chamber must be equipped with motion sensors and surveillance cameras to monitor any activity related to DA-083. Access to DA-083 requires Level 3 clearance and must be authorized by the Site Director.
Description:
DA-083 is a train map titled "Transport for Southlnd," measuring approximately 90 cm by 60 cm. The map appears to be a typical urban transportation guide, displaying various train lines, stations, and their interconnections. The material and print quality of DA-083 resemble those of standard maps found in metropolitan areas. However, DA-083 possesses anomalous properties that can cause significant confusion and disorientation among observers. Though the map distinctly shows a tram network within the seaside town of Southlnd, APK South, no such tramline exists.
When a person views DA-083, they will initially perceive it as a standard, functional train map. However, over time, the map will subtly change, displaying incorrect information, fictitious routes, and nonexistent stations. These alterations are gradual and progressive, intended to mislead and confuse individuals who rely on DA-083 for navigational purposes.
DA-083's anomalous effects extend beyond visual perception. Individuals who study the map for an extended period, typically exceeding 30 minutes, may experience disorientation, dizziness, and a distorted sense of direction. This disorientation can persist even after the map is no longer in sight, leading affected individuals to have difficulty navigating their surroundings accurately.
DA-083's effects intensify when a person attempts to use it for navigation. When an individual follows the routes and directions displayed on DA-083, they will invariably end up in an area different from their intended destination. The map's distortions extend to the physical environment, creating spatial anomalies and altered train stations that correspond to the false information displayed on DA-083.
Subjects who attempt to traverse the fictitious train lines may experience severe disorientation, becoming lost within the anomalous space. Retrieval of affected individuals often requires specialized search and rescue procedures due to the complexity and unpredictability of DA-083's distortions.
It should be noted that DA-083's effects do not appear to affect digital reproductions or photographs of the map. However, any attempts to create digital representations that accurately depict DA-083 have proven unsuccessful. The anomalous properties seem to be inherent to the physical map itself.
Addendum: Incident DA-083-1
On ██/██/20██, a civilian unknowingly gained access to DA-083 and used it for navigation within the town. The individual was reported missing and later found wandering aimlessly in a distorted section of the town.
After extensive debriefing and amnestic treatment, the civilian was released, and a cover story was disseminated to explain their disappearance.
Efforts are underway to develop countermeasures against DA-083's anomalous effects, including testing potential neutralizing agents and researching possible connections to other anomalous phenomena involving spatial distortion.
Investigation into the origin and purpose of DA-083 is ongoing.
