DA-111: “The Closing Curtains”

Object Class: Safe, for now...

Secure Containment Guidelines:
The Closing Curtains are to be contained in a 5m x 5m containment chamber constructed with reinforced steel walls. The chamber must have no windows and only one entrance. Access to the containment chamber requires Level 3 clearance and is to be limited to research personnel with prior approval. Surveillance cameras are to be installed to monitor the curtains at all times.

Description:

DA-111, known as "The Closing Curtains," are a pair of crimson-colored curtains made of an unknown fabric. The curtains are suspended from a simple rod and appear to be of average make. However, the anomalous property of these curtains becomes evident when they are installed in an environment with a window.

Regardless of the time of day or external lighting conditions, The Closing Curtains will autonomously close precisely at a time that is not sunset. Attempts to manually open or close the curtains have proven unsuccessful; they cannot be manipulated by any physical force or means. Additionally, electronic or remote methods for controlling the curtains have also proven ineffective.

Addendum:

Observation logs indicate that The Closing Curtains exhibit a consistent pattern of closing at times that are statistically significant to individuals who have experienced personal losses or emotional distress. Psychological evaluations of personnel exposed to DA-111 have been inconclusive, and further research is ongoing to determine the origin of this pattern and its implications.
